Georgia Football: Here’s Everything I’ve Written Leading Up to National Signing Day 2015

I don’t write a ton about recruiting here, but I do cover the topic (with a tiny degree of competence) over at Bleacher Report. Here’s an archive of what I’ve written about Georgia’s 2015 recruiting class.  I’ve dated the article and added commentary as some are incredibly dated.

Dawgs off to Signature Fast Start for 2015 Class (Feb. 10, 2014)

Georgia was indeed off to a quick start with commitments from Terry Godwin, Rico McGraw, Christian Owens and DeVondre Seymour.  Unfortunately Ownes and McGraw decommitted (though the latter may come back around) and Godwin could still be a target for Bama.

Breaking Down the Top 2015 Target at Each Position (Apr. 21, 2014)

From where we stand today, this is depressing.  But at the time this article was written very few commitments were out.  Quick summary:

Hits: Wide Receiver Terry Godwin (as of now), Defensive Lineman Trent Thompson, Defensive Back Rashad Roundtree

Misses: Running Back Taj Griffin (Oregon), Tight End Hale Hentges (Alabama), Offensive Lineman Chuma Edoga (USC),

Still up for Grabs: Linebacker Roquan Smith

Dawgs Losing Home State Talent for Class of 2015 (Apr. 25, 2014)

Intelligent readers loved my anti-Bulldog sentiment here.  At the time 19 of 50 Top 50 Peach State prospects were committed and only three were committed to Georgia.  Currently 11 of the Top 50 are committed to the Bulldogs.

Recruiting Director’s Departure Won’t Hurts Dawgs’ 2015 Class (May 30, 2014)

Once upon a time a recruiting driector named Daryl Jones resigned at Georgia. Whatever.

  6. Natrez Patrick (He’s In)

Top 5 Remaining Recruiting Targets for NSD 2015 (Jan. 12, 2015)

Looks like Georgia will get Roquan.  The other four (Patrick Allen, Chidi, Donte and CeCe) are out.

Strong Recruiting Close Essential for Bulldogs Momentum (Jan. 16, 2015)

Georgia’s got a lot going its way (believe it or not).  A strong finish before NSD could really springboard momentum.

Is Van Jefferson’s Decommitment a Bad Omen for Georgia’s National Signing Day? (Jan. 21, 2015)

Speaking of momentum, Jefferson’s decommitment sure stalled things out a bit.  He’s out as is Chris Carson and Shaq Wilson.

Will Emphasis on Defensive Recruiting Yield Championships? (Jan. 23, 2015)

All defense everything in the class of 2015.

Bulldogs’ 2015 National Signing Day Wish List (Jan. 26, 2015)

  1. Keep commitments firm.
  2. Bring in some big boys like Roquan.
  3. Pull of a surprise.

Unlikely Position Group Will Make or Break Dawgs’ Signing Day (Jan. 28, 2015)

Yes, all defense everything.  But can somebody catch the damn football?
