Sweat Sets The Big Day

Josh Sweat – ☆☆☆☆☆
#6 Overall; #1 WDE; #1 in VA
Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) WDE
6-5/240

5-Star defensive end, Josh Sweat, is set to decide on Wednesday, December 10, at 10 a.m. at his high school. Most people believe it is coming down to Georgia, Florida State, and Virginia Tech, but Ohio State is one of his top schools as well.

Sweat has kept everything close to the vest and hasn’t put one school over the others, so it’s hard to gauge where he’s at right now. I will say, though, that I believe Georgia has just a good a shot as the others and maybe even has the slight edge. Him and his family loved his visit to Athens. They were blown away with how nice everything was at Georgia, from the people, to the facilities, to the academics. His mom really liked Mark Richt and how we conducts business, quite the opposite of FSU where she is very concerned with how the program is being run and all of the terrible press they’ve been getting.

Georgia Loses A Longtime Commit

Quincy Vasser – ☆☆☆
#53 JUCO Overall; #4 JUCO WDE; #4 JUCO in TX
Navarro College (Nyack, NY) SDE
6-4/260

Defensive end, Quincy Vasser, has flipped his commitment from UGA to Texas. He told the Bulldog coaches last night and committed to the Longhorns this afternoon. The bad news for the Bulldogs? Vasser was a very underrated defensive end and likely would have had a lot of success in Athens. The good news? Georgia’s recruiting class is still loaded on the defenisve line. Vasser was certainly a player that I wish the Dawgs could have hung on to, but Georgia fans have nothing to worry about. I can promise you that Pruitt and co. will use that extra scholarship wisely.

Story on Vasser’s decommitment here.
