Georgia Football Recruiting: 5-Star UGA QB Commit Update, HUGE 4-Star In-State Linebacker Talks Dawgs, and More!
Jacob Eason Update
Jacob Eason *2016 – ☆☆☆☆☆
Lake Stephens (Lake Stephens, WA) QB
Fox 5 did a great segment on 2016 5-star quarterback commit, Jacob Eason, yesterday:
If you wonder why I write about Eason so much in my recruiting pieces it’s because he’s the highest rated quarterback to commit to the Dawgs since Matthew Stafford, and I truly believe he is going to be something special. In fact, I’d be willing to bet my first born that he’ll end up being one of the top-3 quarterbacks to ever wear the red & black.
Major UGA LB Target Update
Roquan Smith – ☆☆☆☆
Macon County (Montezuma, GA) OLB
Roquan Smith is without a doubt Jeremy Pruitt’s main target right now at outside linebacker, and he is certainly a must get for the Bulldogs. He is one of the most talented players in the state of Georgia this year, and he would fit into Bulldogs’ defense perfectly. Most people believe that his recruitment is coming down to Georgia, Florida, and Ole Miss with the Dawgs in the lead. Smith plans on committing on National Signing Day (February 5).

Do the Bulldogs Have a Chance With Big South Carolina Commit?
Kyle Davis *2016 – ☆☆☆☆
Archer (Lawrenceville, GA) ATH
A couple of weeks ago, UGA offered the very talented athlete out of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Kyle Davis. Davis committed to the Gamecocks a few months ago before the Bulldogs ever offered him, but now that he’s gotten the in-state offer, do the Dawgs have a chance of flipping him? I think they do. What Georgia has working against them is that they waited a long time to offer Davis when it was clear he was good enough to play for them.
What Georgia has in their favor, however, is that Davis is very high on the Bulldogs. This was always the offer he really wanted to get, and he’s friends with a number of Dawg commits and targets. I also think Eason will come after Davis hard, and I could see that playing a huge role in his flip.
I believe that Davis has the potential to be an incredible play-maker at the next level, and if the Bulldogs aren’t able to flip him, they’ll be one of the teams featured on Davis’ highlight tapes for the next few years.
