Georgia Football Recruiting: ***BREAKING*** Dawgs Pick Up Commit #23 Over Weekend, 5-Star Safety to Commit Friday
Dawgs Pick Up 23rd Commitment
Johnathan Abram – ☆☆
East Marion (Columbia, MS) S
Johnathan Abram, a 2-star safety out of Mississippi, committed to the Bulldogs Friday night over Louisville, Kentucky, and Ole Miss. Abram has not been highly recruited at all, but this could be one of those diamonds in the rough that Jeremy Pruitt has a knack for finding (i.e. Dominick Sanders). After watching Abram’s film, I’m not all that impressed, and I don’t really see him playing a significant role for the Bulldogs, but the UGA coaches must have seen something I didn’t or they wouldn’t have offered him. I’m fine with this commitment for now, and I’m glad the Dawgs were able to snag another defensive back, but if this 2015 class keeps filling up and a better player wants to commit and isn’t able to because a 2-star safety already claimed his spot, this won’t look like a very smart move.
Still, I could just have a lot of bitterness lingering inside from the beatdown last Saturday, causing me to be too critical.

Roundtree To Commit This Friday
Rashad Roundtree – ☆☆☆☆☆
Lakeside (Evans, GA) S
5-Star safety, Rashad Roundtree, is set to commit on Friday to either Georgia, Ohio State, or Duke. Roundtree is an absolute must get for the Bulldogs for a few reasons. First off, safety is a huge need for the Georgia defense right now, and Roundtree is, I think, the best safety in the class of 2015. Second, Roundtree is an in-state guy, and you never want to let an elite prospect from your state get pulled away by another school. And third, this Georgia football program is losing some momentum right now, and they could really use a jolt of energy. On Friday, they whiffed on a big 5-star cornerback, and on Saturday they got the stuffing beat out of them by the Gators. A commitment from Roundtree and a win against the War Eagle Tigers of Auburn in a couple of weeks could be HUGE for this program moving forward.
Check back later in the week for how you can follow the Roundtree commitment live.
