“I want to thank the University, coaches, teammates, and the Bulldog Nation for their patience and support. I take full responsibility for the mistakes I made, and I can’t thank the University, my coaches, and teammates enough for supporting me throughout this process. I’m looking forward to getting back on the field with my teammates.” – Todd Gurley

It was announced this morning that UGA has presented its case on Todd Gurley to the NCAA, and all signs point to him returning for the Florida game.

Georgia could probably still beat Florida with Brendan Douglas lining up at quarterback and running the Wild Dawg every play, but it will still be nice to get #3 back and watch him terrorize Muschamp one last time. Now I won’t go so far as to say I’m glad Gurley got suspended, but I think this team did grow A LOT in his absence, and that could pay big dividends down the road.

Story on Gurley here.

Where Did Gurley Leave Off?

In case you’ve forgotten how dominant Gurley has been this year, here’s a little reminder:

  1. Did he sign the Shirt?

  2. @ “Georgia could probably still beat Florida with Brendan Douglas “.

Be very careful with that attitude, I would hate for the players to relax with that attitude and also relax with Gurley back. If they do Florida may sneak up and play well. Boomer would like nothing more than to beat his old team before gets the boot.

No, you’re right, and although Florida is beyond awful this year, it’s always a close game and Muschamp is going to give us his best. I don’t think the players or coaches are sleeping on Florida.

  3. Do you think UGA would be able to handle Auburn without Gurley?

    • johnnyboysanders

Yes, I think they could, but I’m about 99.9% sure they’ll have him back by then. UGA is good enough to beat Auburn without him, but with him I feel much more confident about their chances.

  4. Do you think Gurley still has a chance for being in the running for Heisman? or did this stunt ruin it for him

    • johnnyboysanders

I think he has a chance, meaning he’ll be in New York, but I don’t think he’ll win it. A lot of voters have come out and said that they’d still vote for him, but some have also said they wouldn’t. His Heisman campaign has certainly taken a hit, but I think he’ll still be in the running.
