Dawgs Offer Speedy Athlete and May Receive His Commitment Soon

Javarius Davis – ☆☆☆
Ed White (Jacksonville, FL) ATH
5-10/173

The 3-star athlete out of Jacksonville, Florida, received an offer from the UGA today, and he immediately moved the Dawgs to the top of his list. Don’t let his 3-star rating fool you, though, as plenty of top schools in the country want this kid including Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, USC, and Wisconsin. Davis has tremendous speed and could play a number of positions if he decides to become a Bulldog.

An interesting tidbit about Davis is that he is the younger brother of former UGA defensive back, Bryan Evans. Davis says that he’ll take a visit to Athens, and if everything feels right, he’ll go ahead and commit.

This wouldn’t be a flashy, big-name pick-up for UGA, but he could be one of those players that you look back on in a few years and say, “How in the world was this kid a 3-star!?”

Story on Davis here.

Check out his junior highlights:

Trenton Thompson Update

Trenton Thompson – ☆☆☆☆☆
Westover (Albany, GA) DT
6-4/293

5-star defensive end Trenton Thompson caught up with Rivals.com after his game on Friday and gave an update on where things stand with him. Thompson is still 150% a Dawg and isn’t wavering at all. He looks forward to getting to Athens and continues to recruit other players. Like I’ve said before, Thompson could be a huge factor in landing some top defensive talents like Roquan Smith and D’Andre Walker whose jobs would be made easier by having a dominating defensive tackle.

Thopmson plans on visiting Athens next for the Auburn game.

Interview with Thompson here.

Big Offensive Tackle Update

Chidi Valentine-Okeke – ☆☆☆☆
Faith Baptist Christian North (Stockbridge, GA) OT
6-5/306

Chidi Valentine-Okeke, one of the UGA’s top remaining targets for 2015 feels really good about the Dawgs. He says that Georgia feels like home to him and that he loves the coaches there. Georgia has been the school that most people think has the edge, and I have to agree. Whenever he talks recruiting, he speaks very highly of the Dawgs, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s now living in Georgia. He was initially  a 2016 recruit, but a few weeks ago after getting his transcripts in order, it’s come out that he’s now a 2015 recruit.

Chidi will commit at the Army All-American game.

Interview with Valentine-Okeke here.
