Josh Sweat Sets UGA Date

Josh Sweat, the nations #1 overall player, has set his official visit to UGA for November 15 when the Bulldogs take on Auburn. He was originally supposed to visit Athens for the Vanderbilt game, but he had to re-schedule after suffering a bad leg injury a few weeks ago. I think this really works out well for the Dawgs, though, as they now get to showcase the school in a big-game atmosphere. Sweat has been very quiet about his recruitment so far, but I truly believe that if the Dawgs show him a great time, which and they will, and get a big win against Auburn in a huge atmosphere, which they will, that they’ll have as good a shot as any of landing him.

Florida State, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech are all very high up on Sweat’s list as well, but Georgia is the only SEC school that he is considering.

If you haven’t seen Sweat’s highlights yet, you need to watch the video below. He is an absolute animal and is one of those guys that you can just tell will be a top-5 pick in the draft. He has great speed, great size, and an uncanny ability to blow up plays.

Sweat’s junior highlights:

Micah Abernathy Chooses the Vols

Micah Abernathy, out of Greater Atlanta Christian, chose the Vols over the Dawgs on Friday morning. Abernathy is someone that Georgia really wanted and that they thought they had a great shot at. Following his visit to UGA for the Tennessee game, many thought the Bulldogs had him locked up, but a trip to Knoxville last Saturday and a lot of persuasion from Butch Jones pushed the Vols out in front.

Georgia is still in it for some elite cornerbacks such as Donte Jackson and Tarvarus McFadden, but the Abernathy loss stings because he was someone in the Bulldogs’ backyard who they really should have been able to get.
