Georgia Football Recruiting: 4-Star UGA Target Likely to Decide This Week, and Some Recruiting Quick Hits
This is the week that 4-star Georgia target, Micah Abernathy, said that he’d like to commit. Abernathy visited Tennessee this weekend and loved everything about it. He said it was the loudest crowd he’s seen in college football and that he loved the checkerboard pattern that the fans did. He also said that the poor performance and loss by Tennessee didn’t matter to him because he knows they’re on the rise. Michael Carvell of the AJC was able to catch up with Abernathy’s mom, and she says that she’s torn between both schools.
Going into Saturday I felt pretty confident about the Dawgs’ chances of landing Abernathy, but I really don’t know at this point. He raves about both schools and could see himself playing at either one. I think this is a Jeremy Pruitt vs. Butch Jones battle, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. Abernathy loves Pruitt and likes the idea of him being his defensive position coach. Micah knows how great a coach Pruitt is and how successful he’s been. On the other hand, there’s Butch Jones, who coached Abernathy’s older brother at Cincinnati, and has a really good relationship with the Abernathy family. I’m not sure which school Micah will pick, but whoever does get him will certainly be getting a tremendous talent.
