Georgia Football Recruiting: BIG UGA Target to Commit Next Week, 5-Star Jacob Eason Recruiting for Dawgs, New Dawg Commit Interview

Recruiting Quick Hits

Micah Abernathy (CB) – ☆☆☆☆

Micah Abernathy, one of UGA’s biggest targets is set to commit next week following his Tennessee visit. His decision has come down to Tennessee and Georgia, but I would be absolutely shocked if he doesn’t go with the Bulldogs. Right after his visit to the Georgia/Tennessee game, Abernathy stated that he thought he knew where he wanted to go and that he’d be committing soon. The fact that this came right after him and his father raved about their visit to Athens bodes well for the Dawgs. I have a feeling I’ll be writing another post about Abernathy very soon.

Story on Abernathy here.

Jacob Eason (QB) *2016 – ☆☆☆☆

I know I talk about Eason a lot, but considering the fact that he’s the best quarterback commit UGA has had since Matthew Stafford, it’s hard not too. Many 2015 and 2016 recruits have already talked about how they’d love to play with Eason and that he would certainly factor into their decision. Eason knows the effect he has, so he’s been busy trying to recruit some play-makers to join him in Athens. Some of the big names he’s been talking to a lot are Nate Craig, the #1 player in the nation and #1 wide receiver according to Rivals , and Isaac Nauta, one of the best tight ends in the country. We all knew Jacob would play a huge role in the 2016 class, and it will be interesting to see how everything turns out.

Interview with Eason here.

Chauncey Manac (DE) *2016 – ☆☆☆☆

On Saturday, Georgia got a huge commitment from 4-star defensive end, Chauncey Manac, one of the best players in the state for the class of 2016. Manac said that Georgia’s persistence and heavy recruiting were large factors in his commitment, but he also stressed how much it meant to him to play in state. When he gets to Athens, Manac plans on playing linebacker, with a little bit of defensive line thrown in if he’s able to gain some weight. I don’t really think it matters too much as long as Jeremy Pruitt has this kid going after the quarterback on every down.

Interview with Manac here.
