One day after picking up a big time defensive end for the 2015 class, the Bulldogs received news that another had committed for the 2016 class. Chauncey Manac, a long time Dawg lean made it official on Saturday morning. He joins an already stellar 2016 class that includes 5-star quarterback, Jacob Eason, and 5-star offensive tackle, Ben Cleveland.

Manac is one of the best players in the state of Georgia and one of the best defensive ends in the country. I believe he’s a tad underrated right now, but I fully expect him to have a fifth star by his name this time next year. Chauncey is an absolute freak coming off the edge, and will fit in perfectly with Jeremy Pruitt’s heavy blitz defense. Based on his good size and speed, I could certainly see him playing outside linebacker and coming after the quarterback regularly once he gets to Athens, much like Jordan Jenkins. Again, let me express that this is a HUGE pickup for the Dawgs!

Check out Chauncey’s sophomore highlights here.

Ronnie Harrison (S) – ☆☆☆☆

4-star safety, Ronnie Harrison, took his first visit to Athens on Saturday to watch the Dawgs take on the Volunteers, and he left quite impressed. He said he could certainly see himself playing there and that a flip isn’t out of the question.

I would love to get Harrison, and I think he would add good depth to our secondary. That being said, I don’t think he’s a must get, and if he sticks with the Tide, it won’t be that a big deal.

Sophomore highlights:

Jacob Eason (QB) *2016 – ☆☆☆☆

UGA’s quarterback of the future, Jacob Eason, had another impressive game on Friday night. Eason was 21-26 for 299 yards and 4 touchdowns. It’s crazy to see that this junior in high school already has twice the arm strength than Georgia’s fifth year quarterback has.

Highlights from his game last Friday here.
