Recruiting Quick Hits

Darius Slayton (WR, CB) – ☆☆☆☆ and Micah Abernathy (CB, RB) – ☆☆☆☆

As I’ve talked about before, Darius Slayton and Micah Abernathy are two very talented athletes out of Greater Atlanta Christian. For Slayton, it seems like it’s come down to Georgia and Auburn, and for Abernathy, it seems like it’s come down to Tennessee and Georgia.  I think both of these guys are Georgia locks, and I expect they’ll both commit by the end of October.

Chad Simmons of Scout.com caught up with the dynamic duo and was able to get some great information. If you’re into recruiting at all, you need to check this video out.

In this interview they say there’s a good chance they’ll end up at the same school and that there’s one big one that they have in common (Georgia).

Here are Slayton’s highlights from last Friday.

ESPN also caught up with Abernathy after Friday’s game here.

Elijah Holyfield (RB) *2016 – ☆☆☆☆

ESPN interviewed the stud 2016 running back Friday, and he had some good things to say about the Dawgs. I’ve thought for a while now that Holyfield was a Georgia lean, and I could see him committing in the next few months. In this interview he mentioned that he’s been a Georgia fan his whole life and that the offer he received from them a few weeks ago was huge. Running back will be a big need in the 2016 class, and the addition of Holyfield would certainly fulfill that.

Holyfield interview here.

Holyfield’s sophomore highlights:

Antwuan Jackson (DT) *2016 – ☆☆☆☆

Antwuan Jackson, a big time defensive tackle from Cedar Grove, was in Athens on Saturday to watch the Dawgs destroy the Trojans, and he liked what he saw. He’s big on all the coaches at Georgia and loves that Mark Richt has been able to put a lot of defensive players in the NFL. I’m not sure where things stand right now with Jackson as he hasn’t shown signs of being in love with just one school, but I think Georgia has as good a shot as anyone else at this point.

Story and interview with Jackson here.
