SEC Title Preview: Alabama VS. Florida
The Gators Are Back
If the SEC Title was played today, Florida would be the representative from the East and Auburn would be the representative from the West. But because I refuse to say anything positive about the War Eagle Tigers, I will gladly put the Tide in their place considering they are 0-0 in SEC play. Florida is not the best team in the east right now. I mean we all watched Kentucky, a team I am pretty high on, come within a couple missed opportunities from beating the gators at home. Now Florida heads to Tuscaloosa to face the Tide in a matchup of division powers.
Same Ole’ Tide
Alabama has started 3-0 for the 8th consecutive year under Nick Saban and have looked better as each week has gone by. Blake Sims seems to be holding on to the starting job by showcasing efficient passing, and great escape-ability in the pocket. Amare Cooper is the best wide receiver in the nation, and the running back 3 headed monster of Yeldon, Drake, and Henry, are looking just as good as ever. What I will be looking for this weekend in Tuscaloosa is how well the Tide can battle in the trenches against a very physical Florida team.
Idaho: Never Forget
Florida still has not played Idaho. I believe that puts the Tide at a disadvantage regarding film prep, and should get some sort of points bonus. Florida did look impressive against the daunting Eastern Michigan defense, as they put 65 points on them in 4 quarters. Everyone was very high on this new Florida offense, but they did not score against Kentucky till the second half, so I am not too worried. The biggest key for Florida to win this game, is how will Alabama’s DBs matchup against the Florida receivers, and can Driskel get them the ball?
I believe that the Tide will win this SEC Title preview 30-17. Not going to be an impressive win, but it will be a very physical game that I believe favors the Tide. Look for a heavy dose of Henry and Yeldon, and look for the Gators to try and get one on one with the Tide DBs.
