Interview With Devin Bowman

New starting cornerback Devin Bowman met with the media yesterday and had some really interesting things to say. He hinted at why Grantham just didn’t work out at Georgia and talked about his new role on this Bulldogs’ defense. Logan Booker of Bulldawg Illustrated has the story here.

Mark Richt Meets With the Media

South Carolina quite frankly has run the ball extremely well against us in the last four times out. Every single time, they’ve had at least one guy get over 100 yards rushing. So we need to try to at least slow down that trend if we can.

Richt held his weekly press conference today to preview South Carolina, and he had some interesting things to say. He highlights the matchups, UGA’s injury situation, recruiting, and much more. Video and quotes here.

Mike Davis Looks to Have a Big Game Against the Dawgs

For the last few years, Georgia has had a lot of trouble stopping South Carolina’s rushing attack. As a freshman, Marcus Lattimore absolutely dominated the Bulldogs in Columbia, and he continued to have strong performances against the Dawgs for the rest of his college career. We all breathed a sigh of relief when he finally took off for the NFL as we now assumed the Bulldog defense would be able to stop their rushing attack once again.

In stepped Mike Davis. In his first game against UGA as a starter, Davis rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only 16 carries (9.3 yards per rush). One thing to remember, however, is that the Gamecocks also had a tremendous quarterback and passing attack that the Bulldogs had to respect. Quarterback, Dylan Thompson, isn’t nearly as much of a threat as Connor Shaw, and I believe that Georgia can gear up to stop the run and still be alright in the passing game.

Marc Weiszer has more on this here.
