Michael Bennett out for the Season

Seth Emerson is reporting that Michael Bennett tore his ACL in practice yesterday and is out for the season.

Bennett offered the following on his Twitter feed:

God has a plan for me and everything happens for a reason.  Get ready for a historic season Dawg nation.  Our boys are gonna get it done.

This loss is huge for the Dawgs as they must now look for a way to replace the man who may be the Dawgs’ most reliable pass catcher.  Bennett has already surpassed the yardage of his breakout freshman season with 345 yards on 24 catches and 4 TDs through just five games.  It’s time for Rantavious Wooten, Justin Scott-Wesley and Chris Conley to step up.  And, it may be time to start targeting tight ends Artie Lynch and Jay Rome a little more frequently.

Here’s to a speedy recovery for Michael Bennett.
