Todd Gurley Named Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week

After racking up 293 total yards (198 rushing, 100 on kickoff return, -5 receiving) and 4 touchdowns on what will go down as one of the greatest offensive showings in UGA history, Todd Gurley was named the National Offensive Player of the Week. Gurley’s performance, as I’m sure you saw, was absolutely phenomenal and will be one to tell your kids about.

Secsports.com has the story here, and in case you missed it, here’s the Animal in action.

Richt Still Believes This Team Has a Lot to Fix

Although pleased with his team’s performance, Mark Richt knows they still have a long way to go.

I just think we’re really young in so many ways, and there are a few veterans that understand the deal. But I don’t know how good we are, quite frankly. We had a good performance, we had one good game, and even in that one game there were some things that need to be corrected. So I’m not gonna get too excited yet.

Freshmen and New Faces Show Great Promise

There were so many great takeaways from the Dawgs’ schalacking of the Tigers on Saturday night, but one of my favorites was the showing by the freshmen and other new faces. Nick Chubb looked like an absolute train, Michel was giving his all on every play and made some great hits on kickoffs, Aaron Davis (freshman walk-on) recorded Georgia’s first turnover of the year, and a host of other guys showed us that the future looks bright.

Chip Towers of the AJC has the story here.
